"We stopped by here as it was on the route of our hike. It's small but there is lots to see and learn about the local wildlife . My son and I really enjoyed it and we stepped in again on our return journey. The volunteers were super helpful, kind and patient. There is a water tap just outside the building and a restroom down along the pond"
"The David C. Daniels Nature Center and Alpine Pond are a great place to visit and perfect for a short hike. Located just off of Skyline Blvd. and offers great peaceful scenery."
"This little visitors center near the Russian Ridge parking lot is very cute and staffed by friendly volunteers. It's a little geared towards kids, but we had fun learning about the animals that make this Alpine pond home and the history of the area."
"Russian Ridge is another great county park maintained by the mid Peninsula Park Association. Great many trails and wildlife. There are also biker using many of the trails. Happy Hiking!"
"I passed through this place while going on a hike to the Horseshoe lake. We reached there early morning and the center was not open but the view of the Alpine pond was lovely. It was peaceful and I could hear the chirping of the birds clearly. It was a good surprise spot."
