In addition to the webcam, self-guided nature tours are available for hikes at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, with options for tours in Spanish and Mandarin. Visitors can also learn how to volunteer as a nature center or outdoor education docent, gaining valuable knowledge and skills to share with preserve visitors.

To access the Daniels Nature Center, visitors can park at the Russian Ridge Open Parking Area and walk through a pedestrian tunnel to reach the center. "I passed through this place while going on a hike to the Horseshoe lake. We reached there early morning and the center was not open but the view of the Alpine pond was lovely. It was peaceful and I could hear the chirping of the birds clearly. It was a good surprise spot."
