"I went to this church for a long time, like 25 years and really loved it. Something happened though that did not settle well with me. My family lives 35 minutes away so we were not super active in the church except on Sundays. At a service they did an announcement about a high school ministry trip. So my daughter is 17 and she was scrolling through the people that the high school ministry instagram follows and noticed that there were like 40 accounts where they had posted some photos of themselves in their bathing suits (very sexy photos). My daughter emailed them letting them know that she saw that and that they should be checking the accounts better because they were immodest/ inappropriate photos that can be accessed from a church instagram. They responded that they felt it was important to keep in touch with them. Then I responded again that in a culture where pornography and lust is so rampant that we should not encourage girls exploiting themselves. Also if a boy wants to attend or check out the girls attending this can cause them to stumble. Some people may find this not a problem but I did not feel this way. Then after my last email there was no response. I don’t know why they did not see it as more urgent and have someone check out all the accounts because they’re still following accounts like these. Hopefully this can be fixed, sincerely Marissa Austin."
