"This place is a Sonoma County Gem. We used to come here with our family when I was a kid, in the 1990's. I always thought it was a magical place, like we were stepping into a land lush with plants, flowers, leaves bigger than your arm, petals of every color littering the ground, and meandering paths. We would pack a picnic lunch and stop in a shady gazebo for a peaceful family outing. We visited again today for the first time in 25 years, and brought our own kids back. While the plants were bigger, much of our favorite features were still there. The New owner was very friendly, and told us it had been around for about 55 years, and that he hoped to preserve it for future generations. We hope so!"

"If you are in the Sebastopol area, this nursery is a must to visit, even if you're not in the market for garden plants. The 8-acre domain has 1.5 miles of trails. It changed ownership about a year ago, and the new owner, Mike Boss, became the steward of one of the largest rhododendron collection in California. You'll enjoy docent-led garden tours, forest multisensory experiences and gardening classes. It takes a lot of work to maintain such a large nursery, so some of the areas could use a little sprucing up, but it adds to the wildness of the place. I found out about it from the Sonoma County Gazette, where it was listed as the Hidden Valley Nursery."
