Welcome to the Huntington Park Library, a cornerstone of the vibrant City of Huntington Park, California. Located at 6518 Miles Avenue, our library has been proudly serving residents and neighboring communities since its founding in 1913. Initially housed in City Hall, the library moved to larger locations in 1924 and 1931, and has been in its current Civic Center location since 1970.

Our library is home to the stunning "Flight Form" sculpture by artist Tom Van Sant, which has been a focal point since its dedication in 1970. We invite you to explore this piece and the wealth of resources available within our walls.

The Huntington Park Library is more than just a place to borrow books; it is a community hub supported by the dedicated Friends of Huntington Park Library, a volunteer-run organization formed in 1996. This group plays a vital role in promoting and supporting our library services, ensuring that we continue to meet the needs of our community.

We offer a wide range of services, including access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, music, and movies for download or streaming. With a library card, you can explore these resources on your computer, tablet, or phone without worrying about overdue fines.

For our young patrons, we host exciting events like the LA County Library’s Annual Bookmark Contest, inviting young artists to kick off the school year with creativity. Additionally, our Homework Centers provide enhanced resources and technology to support students' educational needs.

Parents with young children can benefit from our Family Place Library, a center focused on early childhood information, parent education, and family support. We also offer Citizenship-in-a-Bag toolkits and a variety of other resources to support lifelong learning and community engagement.

"Love this library, I really enjoy going here with my daughter, they have a good selection of books, it’s clean, organized and most of the times quiet and kid friendly. We are both avid readers (I’m more of a kindle guy reader) we’ve been visiting this library since 2015 and never had a bad experience, only a recent situation that I didn’t feel comfortable with. My kid (13yrs) sometimes holds books thru the website and I go and pick them, recently when I was checking out 2 books the lady that was helping me, said that I cannot pick them, that it should be the person who’s name has the card, she said that this time she will pass it but next time it should be my daughter picking them up. Really? So as the parent/legal guardian I cannot pick the books for my kid? In order to avoid this type of situations I applied for a library card ONLINE under my name; when I went to pick it up I explained the person who was attending me the reason I got the card he said that me as the parent I can pick my daughters books on hold and that he was going to bring this up. Other than that situation, I really enjoy this library, I spend most of my time on the second floor."

"They have a pretty great selection of books, movies, and CDs. It's not the biggest library but it's pretty good. Plus anything that you want can be transferred from another library. Perhaps my only gripe is that there's no self checkout machines but I've never had to wait too long in line so it's not a real concern."

"One of my favorites libraries. They have a good selection of brand new books in English and Spanish. It gets very busy at peak hours when children get out of school. Overall, great place to spend some free time!"
