Long Beach was a pivotal hub during the war, housing both the Navy and significant naval shipyards. Thousands of women joined the workforce at the local Douglas Aircraft Plant, working tirelessly around the clock to produce military aircraft.

In recognition of their invaluable contributions, this park was renamed Rosie the Riveter Park on March 24th, 2007. Formerly known as Douglas Park, this serene space was originally created from surplus land from the development of Skylinks Golf Course in 1959.
