Named in honor of Bret Harte, a renowned nineteenth-century writer celebrated for his captivating California Gold Rush tales, our library continues to inspire and educate patrons of all ages. Please note that in observance of Labor Day, all Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) locations and services, including phone lines, will be closed from Saturday, August 31 through Monday, September 2.
