Welcome to Artesia Library, a cornerstone of the Artesia community since its establishment in June 1913. Located at 18801 Elaine Avenue, Artesia, California, our library proudly stands as the 13th branch of the County of Los Angeles Public Library system. Our rich history is a testament to the dedication and passion of community members, such as Mr. C. L. Edgerton and our first librarian, Mrs. Della M. Brooker.

"Definitely open a library card at this library so you have access to LA County Library's selections in their branches of libraries and via Libby if you're into audiobooks/ebooks. The process took 15 minutes. The librarian was helpful. There's parking that's shared with the park next to the library. 2 COVID tests are allowed to patrons. Beware of the service charge ($33) if you try to pay your fees with a check that can be returned."
"I love to bring my toddlers to this library! The children's section is bright and well-designed for this age group. My kids can't read yet, but they enjoy coming to the library to play and interact with other children. There are toys, puzzles, and computers with appropriate games and 20 minute timers. Their SmartyPants program is wonderful and free for the community. I highly recommend it. Everything is packaged in a modern and attractive facility. There are also plenty of sanitizers and disinfectant wipes throughout the library."

"The two reasons I am give this place 1 star:: 1. Washroom is always lock. Every time people need to use washroom, they have to ask librarian to unlock it. It's ridiculous. Why wouldn't they keep the washroom open during library hour. 2. This place is closed for two days (Sunday and Monday). Why would they be close in weekend? People would love to spend their time on the weekend, but it's close."
"The chairs suck compared to the la county library in culver city. Still better than the nearby la county library in hawaiian gardens. The restrooms have paper towels rather than only an air dryer. The computer screens are very dim for some reason."
