Our library has a rich history, beginning as the Central Branch Library in 1930 and evolving through the years to become a vibrant hub in one of the most ethnically diverse areas of the city. Renamed in 1937 after a community contest, the Mark Twain Branch has served generations of residents, moving to its current location across from MacArthur Park in 2007. Our 16,000-square-foot facility was the first in Long Beach to earn the prestigious Silver Medal LEED Award for its environmentally friendly design. At the Mark Twain Neighborhood Library, we offer a wide range of services and programs to meet the needs of our diverse community. Whether you're looking to borrow a book, use our computer facilities, or attend one of our many educational events, our dedicated staff is here to help.
