Olompali State Historic Park
β ClosedOlompali State Historic Park, located at 8901 Redwood Boulevard in Novato, California, offers a glimpse into the rich history of the Coast Miwok people who inhabited the area for thousands of years. The park overlooks the Petaluma River and San Pablo Bay, providing stunning views from the slopes of Mount Burdell. Visitors can explore the historic Burdell mansion, gardens, and ranch facility, as well as hike along the Miwok Loop Trail or venture to the peak of Mt. Burdell for a challenging trek. Dogs are allowed in developed areas of the park, but not on trails or in historic buildings. Parking is available for $8 per vehicle, payable by cash, check, or the Yodel smartphone app. The park is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with gates closing promptly at closing time. Visitors are encouraged to respect the natural environment and history of the park, and to enjoy the educational opportunities provided by the Friends of Olompali.
