The Oaks Hotel & Suites

"One night only kinda place. Not impressed rooms are dated and views are horrible . The screen and the windows were black and filthy. They leave notes all over the room like a parent instructions and they have the audacity to charge a $100 deposit. When you stay in a hotel for this price you expect more than the bare minimum . The restaurant was not open neither was the bar or pool. One night and I’m out of this place. Do not recommend this place they offer a used dirty robe that was ripped for your shower. If you’re coming to Paso stay at La Quinta it is a much better upscale stay ."

"The rooms were clean and the breakfast was quite a nice surprise. It was buffet style but they had a cook and so everything was fresh. Eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon potatoes, breads, etc. The breakfast room monitor, Jim, was awesome. He handled everything and everyone perfectly. Last evening we were offered a glass of complementary wine and we decided to take some home. I didn’t give the establishment 5 stars because I thought it could do with some updates. It felt dark inside. Paint and lighting could really help I think. The seating area in the lobby was terribly uncomfortable and unwelcoming. These are just ideas. The hotel could really go up several notches with these suggestions. IMO."

"I am writing this review simply because I think they have an amazing staff who are warm, friendly and very accommodating. We had a bit of a snafu with our room but I am impressed at how they handled it and took ownership. The rooms and service overall is really nice, it’s the little attention to details with slippers, robes, coffee and tea at arrival that gives this place that extra warmth. Appreciate our stay and hope to visit again and spend more time in Paso Robles."

"Typical hotel compared to an Embassy Suites or this style, basic. Not a boutique hotel, nor a luxury 5 star hotel, but simply adequate. Pool, gym, both open and working. And, I will say that the breakfast was very nice. Friendly host willing to make sure you got everything you needed. But, I really came here to add the review for this one thing... I forgot my expensive electric toothbrush in the room and only remembered as was half-way home with no ability to go back. One call, and their immediate solution was to grab it, and mail it to me for absolutely no charge. After spending full price for the room for 3 nights, this simple gesture meant so much to me. The $5 postage that it cost them certainly won them a regular client. I will definitely be back to support a business that knows the meaning of customer service. Thank you very much"
