"We were forced to use Mitera by Kindbody. Our surrogate had already been screened by our agency. Mitera charged us $650 for the surrogate appointment and then an additional $650 for the consultation with us after. That consultation could have been an email: "Nothing of note found". It was over within 5 minutes. It is absurd to be forced to hand over $1300 for a service that provides so little value."

"My fertility doctor insists that there is no other way to schedule an appointment for screening. This is my second time using your services. The first time was necessary because our surrogate had high blood pressure, putting her at high risk, and our doctor required a consultation. I remember that it ended up being a complete waste of time and money. The doctor merely reviewed the records and provided us with a PDF report to pass on to our doctor. Now, I have a perfectly healthy surrogate without any issues, and a different doctor is requesting the same consultation for no apparent reason. As an intended parent, my main question is why your company and fertility clinic endorse this service. We, as intended parents, are already navigating a complex landscape of lawyers, doctors, agencies, and others who all want to profit from our desire to have children. I'm already paying $4000 to the fertility clinic for the screening, so what sets your service apart from my experience with the fertility doctor conducting the same procedure? Furthermore, charging $650 for a mere 30 minutes of a doctor's time feels like a form of exploitation in my opinion. You should genuinely feel ashamed for taking advantage of the desire to have children. Instead of providing parents with a choice to use your services in a fair and transparent manner, you force us to comply with doctors and pay additional fees. I don't mind paying for certain things, but these types of tactics raise concerns. To conclude, I want to emphasize that this is not a personal attack nor a question regarding the necessity of your services. However, I strongly object to forcing parents and making this procedure a requirement when we are already paying for the screening of our surrogate."
