"Horrible staff, horrible management. I felt afraid to ever put a review here because I knew they would retaliate based on past pettiness. Keep everything pristine before move out, or pay an absurd amount for “cleaning fees” like I’m going to have to. NEVER live here, it is The Palms all over again. If you’re living here currently, end your lease ASAP. The air conditioner never worked, the internet never worked, and so much more. Alight Riverside does not care about your well-being or hard work as a student. Don’t ever expect them to work with you, even if they assure you they will after talking to them about your troubles. STAY AWAY for the sake of renting fairly and living happily. I lived there for 2 years, I only hope my foolish experience will help others rent comfortably."

"I have lived here for 1 year and it has been a positive experience. The apartment areas have become a lot cleaner in the past couple months and the staff is attentive to requests and concerns. There is always room for improvement, but I feel they have been making a change for the better. Parking is safe and with having a nice car I have always felt comfortable parking behind the gate. Garbage is routinely emptied by the city every week, and even though there is homelessness around I have not had a hostile situation with them. Kinda part of being in downtown honestly. Thankfully all my apartments utilities and kitchen appliances work well and haven’t had any problems. All fairly new items. Would prefer gas stove, but the electric one works fine. Overall its a great place to stay while getting your degree and being close to everything in downtown. Perfect location next to the freeways for work. Room prices have gone up slightly since I’ve been here, but I think that applies to everything in the world."

"I have only had great experiences with the maintenance staff, specifically Raymond. They are always super friendly and will go out of their way to help you as soon as you put in a request or even if you just ask them when you see them around."

"I have lived at Alight Riverside through Scion Management for over 5 years. During my last stay from Sept 2022-August 2023 my roommate and I have been met with a hostile and uncomfortable living situation. During our last months both the General Manager and Assistant Manager did not take our concerns about our living situation, to which it was giving micro-aggression, To put the cherry on top, they have taken unsolicited photos of my roommate, my minor siblings, and myself. After my numerous complaints there has not been a single accountability made by the management of Alight Riverside or the Scion management to rectify this uncomfortable living situation I sustained. Besides the uncomfortable living conditions made by management, the area of the apartments was subpar for what they were charging in rent. To start, my apartment was the farthest from the other apartment buildings and was the only building without an elevator whereas all the other apartments had one. I lived on the fourth floor and had to go up and down five flights of stairs to reach my apartment. Management failed to mention the apartments I was given did not have an elevator until the day of move-in. In addition, the only trash can was on the opposite side of the apartment building and was in an unsafe environment outside of the community where anyone had access to the area. Also, when I requested to view the apartment before signing the lease, they explained to me that they were not able to do so, especially with no good reason as to why. They try to overcharge on the simplest items. This plus all other issues they have is the reason why in their lease they prevent class actions because of all the issues they have. The management and corporation are predatory to college students as they try to overcharge and use scare tactics for students. The gym equipment never works and the apartments themselves are not upgraded for the price they charge. DO NOT LIVE HERE, find somewhere to live. This management needs to either be dismantled or rebuilt from the ground up as they are SCAMMERS masked as an apartment complex."

"This apartment really did catfish me. By that I mean, I was going in expecting a place just like the pictures but it was no where near like the pictures. When you are given a tour of the place, they only show you the display room which looks very nice because of the lighting and decorations. Now, this was my experience, going into my apartment it was so so dirty ( keep this in mind). There were roaches everywhere. My family and I had to clean my room and later that day my roommates and I deep cleaned the whole entire apartment. We spoke with them and Ana seemed to be helpful because the pest control was sent every Thursday. But it was a situation that should have been taken care of before moving in. As for the office staff, everyone is so nice but one person. The maintenance people were always very understanding. I had multiple incidents when I would find myself going into the office to pick up a package or ask a question and Kay( not sure her name) would always seemed bothered. I asked her for printing paper because the machine said there was no more inside, and when she opens it there happens to be paper in there and I apologized for making her walk a couple feet down to the printer, and she completely ignored me and walked away annoyed. There was also a time when my guest had his car parked in the parking structure and got it towed a couple times. The cost to get your car out ranges from 300-400. So this one time, we were confused because I registered the car and showed proof. The people in the office continued saying that we weren't allowed to park there but i read an email saying that we could. After going back and fourth with them, they finally said it was a mistake on their end and returned us the car. Once dropped off, the guy who took the car said he tried telling the people in the office that the car was registered and parked in the correct spot, but they refused to listen and had him take the car regardless.Which is another situation that should not have happened. Lastly, when i finally decided to transfer my sublease they charged me $50 for a cleaning fee when I left lmao, which is kind of ironic because they're charging us for a cleaning fee for the new people to move in, but they definitely did NOT clean my apartment when i moved in lol. They love charging and taking advantage of college students for sure. You might not see it the first two months but after that, you'll know exactly what i meant by all of this. Overall, the only good experience I got from this apartment, was my huge cute room that I decorated and my lovely roommate Andreya."
