Born from the Alamitos Bay Boundary Settlement Agreement of 1968, the park features a thoughtfully designed Marina Basin, completed in 2003, with 30 boat slips, an access road, a parking lot, and convenient amenities like a boat owners’ restroom and laundry room. Officially opened to the public in August 2007, Jack Nichol Park is named in honor of Jack Nichol, a distinguished local coastal engineer renowned for his innovative marina designs worldwide and his active role as chairman of the Marine Advisory Commission.
Channel View Park

Located at 6332 East 5th Street, this charming 5.28-acre park stretches along the west bank of the Los Cerritos Channel, extending from Loynes Drive to 7th Street. More recently, in November 2020, a new playground was unveiled, thanks to the advocacy of the University Park Estates Neighborhood and the generous support of the Alamitos Energy Center.
