"In January 2023, I noticed an increase to my monthly bill. No notifications were sent over to me. No attempts were made to alert me that my insurance would be increasing due to life storage being bought out by extra storage space. I spoke to Jessica Barillas who is the store manager. In that email thread she explained the insurance increase, credited by account and my monthly payments went back to what they were. She also expressed that notification was sent out however the mailing had been returned. I immediately knew this was false information. I reside in Germany where every resident has to register at their flat. When this is done our actual names are then placed on the mailbox. So, it’s impossible the notices to get returned if the address is correct and I receive any & all correspondence from US companies as well as the IRS. I informed Jessica in that email that they had the incorrect information & that there are no apt numbers in germany. The street name is accompanied with the building number and thats it. I informed her that she needed to adjust my information to the correct formatting. I also expressed that due to my travels i'm best reached via email. She mentioned that she would send out a new contract, she never did even after i followed up with her. Fast forward, July I noticed an increase again. Once again I received no notification of this increase via mail. I emailed Jessica to find out whats going on. I received no reply back, so i called. Firstly, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She never updated my mailing information with the correct formatting from our last correspondence in Jan. Never sent out any new contracts, no nothing. She then proceeded to email me Aug 1st with a 30 day notice of the increase that was never sent to me via mail in June. When I looked at the notice, I noticed again the address was wrong. I told her this and also told her my german number was wrong again. I was emailed again with a contact update form as she claimed that she would update the info right away. I opened the email and noticed that my number was still wrong and that my signature was electronically signed when I never signed anything. She then proceeded to tell me that she could not assist me and refused to give me the corp number to escalate the matter, and then she hung the phone up. I tried calling back no answer. Finally I was able to get in contact with customer support. To which a young gentleman assisted me. Listen, I pay money every month for 3*3 storage unit (very small) now at $65.50 per month. This is quite excessive for a small unit. Extra storage can raise fees whenever they want and they will. They have disrespectful people running their locations. If i pay my money to any company for a service I expect to be treated with respect. Without customers like myself Jessica, nor any employee would have a job. A job that puts food on their tables and a roof over their heads. Without customers this company would not exist. The gentleman that I spoke with at customer support escalated my issue to corporate as I'm looking to report this store manager. He informed me that they would follow up with me in 24hrs via email, since calling me international might not be feasible. I am still waiting on this email. I will be visiting this location next month and will be removing my belongings from this storage space as I'm not inclined to give a company my money that employs people that disrespects their customers, initially biting the hands that feed them. I do not have to do business with this company. I' m also seeking something to be done about that store manager."

"I was checking out storage around my neighbor and found this one online, went in to check out the different sizes and I was glad I did they were able to give me good prices on units that you won’t find online. Very clean and roomy, not just the units but the walk ways, also if your unit is upstairs they have elevators unlike other places that just have stairs. Would recommend it to anybody and it doesn’t hurt to ask about priceing you might find a better unit at a better price."
