Bunasawa-Kai Judo & Jukkendo is a renowned institution located at 254 Victoria Street in Costa Mesa, California. Specializing in health and wellness, our mission is to educate, transform, and develop successful judokas both inside and outside the dojo. Founded in 1972 by Nori Bunasawa, a 9th-dan judo master and the founder of Jukkendo, our organization offers a friendly environment open to all age groups at the Higashi Honganji Temple. Sensei Bunasawa, a former all Japan weight limit judo champion and U.S. world team coach, brings over 45 years of teaching experience to our institution. As a Kodokan judo 9th-dan, he is the youngest grandmaster in California and has trained under esteemed masters such as Yoshimi Osawa, Masahiko Kimura, and Kenji Tomiki. With a focus on technique and efficiency, Sensei Bunasawa ensures that our members develop their skills correctly.
