Chase Bank

"I needed to go in the bank as I misplaced my debit card, this place felt like the morgue, customer service was non existent, the one lady who worked behind a desk there, finally asked me if I needed help, like I was taking her away from helping a customer as she was rude. This branch used to be cool, now it sucks. I'm not going there again. Might even change my bank."

"It has taken me 6 months to be able to write this review because the experience trying to open an account and access my funds was so traumatic. I used counter checks from my first bank to deposit, so I know they were good. I was told it would be treated like a cashier's check so access to the funds would be fairly quick. 10 days later, I try to access money to fix my vehicle because the steering was going out. I go in the branch because I needed more than the ATM allows. They told me there was a hold on my account. The first banker I spoke with had to call an internal number for help, as she wasn't able to access my information. (Problem #1 with Chase Bank). So, we were told that one of my checks was outdated, and one was denied by the writing bank. I showed her on my phone where that wasn't true, that the funds were removed from my account 10 days ago. So, I had to drive my non-steering vehicle across town 15 minutes to have the bank print out copies of my checks to prove that wasn't true. 15 minutes of terrified driving back to Chase, and I ask to speak to the manager because the first banker had no idea what to do. The branch manager was very kind, but he also had no access to my banking information to help me. (Chase - why have branch managers if they are unable to help customers?) So, he called the internal help line. The first person said that she didn't know why I was told "that" the first time, because "this" was the case. That was also not true, so the manager asked to be put through to a supervisor (Chase - you REALLY put your employees through the same garbage you put your customers through??) This person humiliated me in having to identify myself, after the manager clearly told him he'd seen my ID, seen my proof I brought, but still insisted that the manager verify through my access on my phone that I had the other bank account the checks were written on. Finally, this person said he doesn't know why I've been through any of this because none of it was true and I should have had access almost immediately, not waiting 10+ days. When the branch manager feels the need to write a complaint on behalf of not just me, but himself, to his company, there is a major problem. As a Veteran with PTSD, this traumatized me so much that it took me from March 2019 (when this happened) to last week (September 2019) to be able to walk in a branch here to close the account. (Which was also a bad experience.) Chase Bank is terrible, and I'd never recommend them to anyone, for anything. Ever."
