"Called ahead and verified that I could come in to open an account and cash some savings bonds. When I arrived, the teller asked for assistance and another employee (I believe her name was Mary Ann) asked me various questions about my intention of opening an account. I answered all of her questions, agreed to let them hold the funds in an account for as long as they required and advised I would be leaving some funds in an account. The employee accused me of only wanting to open an account to cash the bonds and close it right away. I assured her that was not the case and I was open to establishing a relationship with this bank. I didn’t mention this because she didn’t ask me but I still have several bonds that haven’t reached maturity so I would have been back to cash and deposit those if I had been allowed to open an account. The employee made a call and still refused to open an account for me, stating they only want to do business with customers they can form a long term relationship with. I would have been open to expanding my business with this bank beyond cashing bonds because it is in my area and my family has had great experiences with this bank at the Carrollton location. I have found other banks that are more than happy to assist me, establish what will be a long relationship and won’t make me feel uncomfortable or unwelcome. I do not recommend this location as I was given conflicting information and refused service."
