"This company is very negligent and doesn't care about the homeowner's property. They damaged our house whilst putting in the sewer system, and it has been over 4 months, and we still have not had any resolve to this situation. On top of that they had heavy equipment parked on our lawn less than 30 feet away from our house WITHOUT our permission eventhough in their contract with the city it clearly states that the homeowner has to sign off on these kind of things. We were never asked or consulted. After doing further research, I found out that Fields Excavating have been sued before and lost, and has also been fined by OSHA due to vibrational damage they previously have caused to other properties. They used no equipment to protect our home from vibrational damage and Jeff Fields has been silent throughout this whole process. The treatment has been unacceptable and outrageous. 100% do not recommend this company. They do not care at all about the safety of individuals. Our house continues to sustain damage as time passes without any resolve or attempt to fix it and we are losing property value by the day. This is a horrible and unethical organization. Never use them."

"Fields Excavating damaged my house while installing a sewer line for Athens County. I am an Army veteran, and after three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, I was finally able to use my VA Home Loan to purchase a house in 2019, only to have construction vibration damage in every room of my house a few years later. During this project they had to drill into rock 12-14 deep in the road 75 feet from my house. They did not use any sort of ground monitoring equipment and now I have construction vibration damage throughout my house. Additionally, they operated a 5-ton excavator on my front lawn less than 50 feet from my front door. This was a clear violation of the public contract with Athens County which states in item number 8 that construction cannot occur on the property owner's property without written consent. I was never consulted on this. I have had to hire an engineer with my own money to do a forensic engineering investigation to even be taken seriously by anyone in this matter. The report DID show that their negligence was responsible for the vibration damage. This is also not the first time they have been responsible for property damage. There is a case from 2003 where they have damaged 5 other homeowner's properties as well. As well as another court case for OSHA violations for unsafe excavation practices. I am now in the process of dealing with their insurance company, Travelers Insurance, who is doing their best to drag this out with very delayed responses in their "investigation." At this point, I have cracks in my wooden floorboards, walls, and staircase that are continuing to get wider, which worries me that permanent, irreversible foundation erosion is occurring. Nearly all of my windows have a draft of cold air coming in because they no longer seal correctly, and who knows how much that is increasing my heating bill. Every floor of my house creaks and groans when I walk on it. The damage to my house is throughout every level from floor to ceiling, from my basement to the third floor. I deployed and fought for this country, only to have the house I purchased with my VA Home Loan rattled apart by a company that didn't take any safety measures (ground monitoring equipment, etc.) to safeguard my property. I fought for these benefits, and I can guarantee you I will fight to protect them."
