"I have witnessed a very professional and thorough pediatrician who has a great bedside manor with my twin grandsons also very informative with myself regarding their condition and what their needs are! I have seen good and bad doctors in my 35 yrs as a RN so I recognize the gd vs. Bad ones. Thank you!"
"Would not recommend Lawall or Christ Hospital system to anyone. Unresponsive and unprofessional. Had a bad poison ivy rash and received a steroid treatment. After being told to request a refill if conditions persisted, my refill request was denied. I called back every day for a week to understand why my prescription refill was denied. Meanwhile, still dealing with an itchy poison ivy rash. After a week of calling back every day (apparently the doctor could not be bothered to respond), I was told I had to come in for a new appointment. Appointment lasted about 5-10 minutes to confirm I had the same poison ivy rash I had the month before. Received a new prescription for the same medicine and was charged for another appointment. Given the circumstances, I disputed the charge for the appointment with Christ Hospital. Mind you, I only disputed the charge for the additional appointment, not the refill fee. I was assured someone would follow up within a couple days. No one followed up. For 3 months, I received outstanding bill notices in the mail, for 3 months I called back asking for status on the disputed charge, for 3 months I was assured this would be resolved in a matter of days. Finally, after calling back yet again today, they let me know the bill remains "patient responsibility" and I need to pay the fee or be sent to collections. I guess I will pay the bill given no other choice, but will never be visiting Christ Hospital again and hope this review steers others away from making the same mistake."
"Very unprofessional and patronizing. My niece, in her early 20s, has been having significant health issues after having covid two times. This doctor agreed to some further tests for chest pain, but would not even order tests to check for inflammation, even when she requested it twice. Post-viral inflammation is one of the significant issues that people with long-covid have faced, and post-covid this young person has had multiple throat infections, sinus infections, extreme fatigue, ear infections, and many other problems that indicate that it could potentially be caused by systemic inflammation. She also asked for a mono test - again, because of the severe symptoms she has faced for 2+ months - and he said no, that if she had mono, she would have never tested positive for strep. That is absolutely absurd and people have absolutely tested for both strep and mono post-covid. Do your research on post-covid sicknesses, Doctor. Next time a patient is trying to advocate for themselves, instead of being condescending and demeaning to them because they say "my family wants me to do these tests..." (because you are disrespecting their own requests about simple health tests for their own bodies), don't respond with the patronizing "Is this person a doctor who is telling you to ask these things?" Even you cannot know everything, and perhaps a little humility and listening closely to your patient instead of digging in your heels and simply refusing them access to tests would be a better stance. What do you have to gain by not ordering a simple test? I am not a medical doctor, but I have a doctoral degree. I am a professor, and have been reading international and national studies on covid and long-covid for 2+ years. Your hubris is disappointing. I wish I lived in Ohio and could accompany my niece to your office this morning, because I am fairly certain that your responses to her (and me) would have been different. You might have disagreed with or thought the simple tests to be unnecessary, but my guess is that you would have ordered them anyway. Now she needs to make yet another appointment to get more bloodwork done, after having many, many urgent care visits, doctor office visits, and even an ER visit in the last couple of months. There is no place for ego or condescension in a doctor-patient relationship. Not only did you not order the test, you taught my 24-year-old niece a lesson: she does not have a voice in her own healthcare, even when she is trying hard to advocate for herself."
"Dr Lawall is straightforward, which isnt to say he isn't warm as another review inferred, he just diagnoses as a family practice doctor should! One thing at a time. Super pragmatic, and when it comes to your health, that's appreciated. I never feel like he's just guessing or steering me wrong. He cares about his profession, and that's super important when picking a doctor for your best care. Thank you!"
"No room for flexibility and strictly By the Book from patient services to healthcare treatment. I would not recommend this Dr. If you need a healthy dose of compassion you won’t get it from him. I don’t have time for this Doctor because he didn’t have time for me. Inconveniently the (10) minute grace period is STRICTLY enforced by this Doctor even if its only (2) minutes. All White and Black NO ROOM for GRAY!! FYI, My family has no History of being late and never paid attention to the 10 minute rule. It was a bad accident on both of the major express ways and I still managed to get there. I even gave courtesy call. This Doctor lost (4) patients and the sad part is I know it doesn’t (gray )matter. No TIME for this Doctor!"
