"If it were possible to leave a no-star review, I would. However, I have to leave at least one star. I hired this company to resurface my deck and to build a roof over the deck. When the planning began, I specifically stated I wanted to square off the deck, as the original deck did not have squared off corners, replace the steps and the landing, and have a roof built over the deck. I had already purchased the materials to construct the steps, the landing, and the railing. The company gave me an initial bid of almost $11,000 which included pre-fabricated deck steps. I had them remove the deck steps as I had already told them I had the materials on site. The company's "owner" advised the work could be completed the week my family and I were on vacation. With this being a veteran-owned company and my limited experience working with the owner through my employment, I felt like I could trust them to do the work on time and correctly. When I returned from vacation, I noticed the deck surface was the only thing "completed" but the notched corners remained. I had ordered enough lumber to resurface the deck and to square off the corners; however, when I first looked out, I did not see any of the 16' boards I had purchased to square off the corners. I attempted to contact the owner but she did not take my call, which became a common occurrence throughout the project. I did make contact with the person who did the estimating with the owner. He tried to convince me there was never any discussion about squaring off the deck nor any of the other immediate issues I discovered such as replacing some of the deck posts. The project that was suppose to take approximately one week turned into over four weeks of work for no apparent reason other than extremely slow workers. Once they were finally "finished" with the project, the owner then decided to get involved by sending me an email, not an invoice, of the final bill. The owner increased the bill by over $20,000. I then had a second contractor come to look at the deck to see how much he would have charged. Rather than giving me a price to do the work, the contractor provided me an quote of $12,000 to repair all of the issues, he discovered, and to bring it up to code. We had a decent rain fall, immediately after completion, and I discovered not only the roof leaking but rain water coming from the weep holes on my siding. Now, the company is seeking legal action because I refuse to pay for shoddy work that does not meet code and am not interested in getting screwed over. I am a veteran who is having a fellow veteran try to screw me over. Whether you are a veteran or not, DO NOT go with this company if you want your project completed correctly, on time, and on budget. On a side note, their website states they are a Google 5-star rated company. However, until I did this, they had zero Google reviews. This lady is a farce! Do not trust her or her company!"
