"Visited America's Best on Glenway Ave. for the first time on 8/3/24 with my college aged daughter. Her appointment was at 11am and they asked us to arrive early. We arrived at 10:40am. We checked in and were taken to the waiting room in the back by the exam rooms. We waited...and waited and waited. There was one patient ahead of us and they were in the exam room for a solid hour or more. My daughter was called into the "pre-test" room at noon, already 1 hour after appointment time. They did a quick screening and then sent her back out to the waiting room where we sat and waited for ANOTHER hour. At 1:00pm they asked if we could come back at 3pm. Ummm. What? We had been there since 10:40am and at 1pm we still hadn't seen the doctor and you now want us to come back at 3pm? That's a hard no. This place is the puppy mill of eye doctors and is a total you know what show. Don't waste your Saturday morning and afternoon at this place. Do yourself a favor and go to a real eye doctor. You're welcome."
"Two pairs of glasses and an eye exam for less than $80! Even without insurance! All of the staff was SO nice and really took the time to explain every step to me. Definitely recommend!"
"I got my glasses from Eyemart Express have been for the last probably eight years which is three times over eight years. This is the first time I have a negative review I want to claim my glasses and the one arm had fell off so I lost the screw it came out. I fell off not their fault. It’s been 23 years, I went up to the one in West Hills Plaza in Cincinnati, Ohio. They put a screw in my lenses that I offered to give them some money. They said nope now for you Char walked out and I noticed that they were different and then I looked at them through how I could see him in the light and they were all scratched up. They weren’t that scratched up when they got them. She’s been a lot of time cleaning them and scratch cleaning them somehow I never said anything. I haven’t talked to them yet, but I’m putting a review out there. Hope they see this and reach out to me."
"Edit as of 3/27/2024 Paul the District Manager reached out to me within 24 hours of me emailing, and assured me that the staff would be retrained, and a meeting was held with the employees involved with this incident. Here is the letter I wrote to the corporate email for America's Best Contacts & Eyewear about my terrible experience with "Cindy" on 3/26/2024: I am wondering if "Cindy" is lost or confused about where she is, or what decade we live in, because straight up treated me like we were in 1950s Greensboro, North Carolina at a Woolworth's lunch counter, talking about where I can and cannot sit! I had a very bad, and somewhat shocking experience at the America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses at 6021 Glenway Ave, in Cincinnati, OH at around 3:20pm on 03/26/2024. I've never written a letter to customer service before in my life, but I felt like this situation was urgent enough to bring to your attention right away. I dropped my mother off about 10 minutes early for a 3pm eye exam, and while she was getting an eye exam, I went to fill my car up with gas. I returned at around 3:15pm, and was greeted by "Cindy", behind the front desk. She knew my mother was waiting for me in the back, so she told me to head back. When I got to the exam waiting area, my mother had already been taken back for the first part of her exam. I decided to head back up front to the area near the door, where 3 empty chairs sat, about 6 feet in front of "Cindy"'s desk. I put my purse down, and settled into the chair, when I heard "Cindy" tell me while seated behind her desk that I was "not allowed" to sit in the chair I chose to wait for my mother to return, because "other people might need to sit to fill out paperwork". I was confused, because there were no other people around, waiting to fill out paperwork. I was a little stunned, but I said "OK", and stood up next to "Cindy"'s desk, since I was unable to sit in my chosen spot. "Cindy" started getting up from behind her desk, and brushed passed me without saying excuse me. I turned around since I didn't realize I had been blocking her path. I then decided to sit back down, because I was now in the way, without knowing where I could or couldn't sit. The person who examined my mom's eyes was really nice, and called me back to assist my mom with another, second part of the eye exam, which I didn't know she was going to get. I decided to go sit down by "Cindy"'s desk again, and waited for my mother to be done. Since I was the one paying for my mother's exam, I decided right then and there that I would pay for the exam, but we would buy glasses somewhere else, because I felt extremely uncomfortable, and didn't want to spend any more money than I had to, at a place that I felt disrespected in. When the second part of my mom's exam was over, we discovered that she would need to see the eye doctor at the Hyde Park location to complete her exam. We made an appointment with the manager, "Natasha", who was very pleasant, and even asked me about where I got my own funky framed glasses. When we were finished making the appointment for my mother to see the doctor in Hyde Park, I asked if I could speak with "Natasha" privately about my experience. I explained to Natasha that I had decided already not to buy glasses from them at this location, because of how rude "Cindy" had been to me about where I chose to sit down, in an almost empty store. I explained to "Natasha" that I could have had any number of medical conditions, like being pregnant, or have mobility issues, and it was NOT good customer service to tell people they "couldn't sit" in an area that had no one sitting in it, and no one waiting to sit in it. I will not be returning to any America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses locations, and will be working with my mother's primary care physician to find her appropriate eye care, because we did not get treated well. I would love to be informed of actions being taken at this location to improve customer service. Yours Respectfully, Laura Moorman"
