"I highly recommend Dr Burghard and have been very happy with her care. She has not rushed me through any of the appointments I've had with her (quite typical of doctors these days). She was caring and professional, and she also called me personally to discuss a test result and treatment options."

"I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Burghard. It is actually a wonder to me that she is even practicing medicine, a field which is founded on compassion for people and forming a rapport with patients to deliver effective care. In my entire life, I have never been told by a physician and her staff (particularly a primary care physician, let alone a specialist) that she is unable to call her patients personally to explain the results of labs/tests that she orders, not even abnormal test results. As a patient, I value the input of a physician and their interpretation of test results, not nursing or administrative staff who is not trained in certain areas of medicine. I was told verbatim "unless it's a life threatening emergency I do not personally call patients". This is an appalling statement to hear from any physician, as it implies that they only have time to order extensive tests but could care less to bother themselves with calling a patient back to explain results. Furthermore refusing to return phone calls after repeated phone messages and asking me to make another appointment if I wanted to discuss the results. I can guarantee that this is not the type of bedside manner that is taught in medical school and it is a shame that Dr. Burghard cannot find 5 minutes in her day to go over the results of extensive testing, much less abnormal testing, with her patients. Once again I am appalled at the behavior of Dr. Burghard and certainly expect a great deal better from Christ Hospital physicians, especially primary care."
