"I can not believe I would have ever felt so disrespected or embarrassed by walking into this place to collect my mail. I have lived at the same residence for nearly 10 years, my significant other has lived in the same residence for 30. We have NEVER had any issues with any mail carrier or USPS until this year. Recently a new mailman has been assigned to our area, while we were away for a few days (July) our mailman put a “blocked” notice with mail on hold in our mailbox. Upon our return my significant other went down to collect our mail, he was asked by the clerk to go in the back to speak to the postmaster Jimmy. He did and Jimmy told him no notices should be put in mailboxes without his signature (guess what? The notice put in our mailbox was NOT signed by him). Postmaster Jimmy told him that he was aware parking is tight on our street and to try our best to leave enough space. We can only control where we park, not anyone and everyone else on the street. We have only received mail in our mailbox a few times since this incident. (In August). Well today I went down to the post office and man did I make a mistake! I asked the clerk for our mail, he tells me it’s been undeliverable because our mailbox is broken. Confused I said it’s the same it’s always been? He went back to get our mail and as he comes to the front counter he apologized and said the note said blocked not broken. As I begin to talk to him to explain and find out how we get a solution to this issue, that has just recently become an issue… a man comes storming in from the door behind the counter, loudly saying that he had already discussed this with my husband and as I tried to explain I was aware and just want to get our mail he starts putting his hand up in the air whilst raising his voice even louder. I said we have lived here for 10 & 30 years and never had any issues he cuts me off waiving his hand in the air continuing to yell that I need to stop talking and listen to him. I then put my hand in the air reciprocating his behavior back to him and told him I was not interested as if he wanted to be loud and disrespectful to me why should I owe him anything more. After, I stood in silence with my 4 year old, while the clerk scanned our items & we had to listen to the man continue to yell and scream as he left the door and went into the back still carrying on in his rant. I asked the clerk what that man’s name was… and what do you know… Jimmy the postmaster! He didn’t speak to my significant other that way, so I can only assume he only talks to women so disrespectfully. What an absolute jerk! I’d love to know who his boss is and make a formal complaint. I felt totally belittled, disrespected and embarrassed in front of the others in the office at the time. Once back in our car, my 4 year old said “he was not a nice man, I didn’t like him yelling at you, that scared me mommy”. Absolutely appalling that he would treat/ talk to anyone this way especially in front of a child!"
"I have used this location for 12 years and have only had an issue once ten years that was promptly resolved. I find the employees to be friendly and helpful. We hold our mail often without any problems. They are super helpful with my international mail to our daughter in Germany. Our informed delivery is spot on, and we love our carrier and the sub when our carrier is out. It sounds like we have been the lucky ones."
"1/5??? Don't think so......0/5 is where this review stands. Lost my $3000 tax refund check as well as a number of important exams from my school (the most recent one being a certified delivery with tracking consisting of 8 exams valued at $300). I mean, who does this?? Why is this branch not being investigated?? Why can't we get in touch with anyone at this branch?? Filed complaints; no one cares.... leaving this review; no one cares. They are a monopoly in the letter delivery industry; they don't have to care, and yet the federal government would roll right over any hardworking citizen if we had a business that was a monopoly that practiced this way. This branch is an abomination to the postal service. I truly hope the USPS goes broke and loses this monopoly over our mail system. It is so unfair for us to have to deal with these so-called professionals that are protected by Unions, paying for services that are hardly fulfilled!!! I've never been so frustrated with something so much in my entire life. If any of you are wise enough to know what is going on here, you will boycott this branch, or USPS overall. Do not take your business there, ever. Update: I filed a complaint about the missing letter, and they sent me a reply saying the issue was resolved, but rather what they were saying was that my letter was lost, and there's nothing they can do but apologize. No compensation for the $300 in damages caused by THEIR mistakes. Not one person is held accountable, and basically, their just like, "Oh, well. Sorry. Next!" I'm glad this system that we are forced to pay for to get letters delivered because they monopolize this system have no ramifications for their actions and can simply shrug off neglectful practices and think it's ok. Heaven forbid if it were one of us "basic citizens" practicing our business like this. We'd be hung out to dry by the very government that does it to us daily. I would truly understand if this were an isolated incident, as mistakes do happen at times, but this happened four times with this branch! Four times, and all within a month! A lost refund check, and three separate letters handled by this branch consisting of 12 total exams I mailed through them (valued at $50 each); Gone! Completely wiped away, and yet they want to deflect the blame on the "sorting facility". Why is it then that I only experience this issue consistently with just the Newport branch? None of the other branches are losing my mail! INVESTIGATE this branch's practices."
"Horrible service! My apt # was missing from a package. Instead of calling my cell number which was more than likely on the package, or going to my leasing office to confirm/ leave the package there, they returned my package to the office. Then I had to call to get it redelivered and ensure they had the correct apt #. Days later I was called while I was out running errands, and told that my package would be rededlivered that day or at the latest, the next day. I followed tracking number and nothing showed my package as delivered. When I got home that evening, no package was in my mailbox or at my door. The next day, I saw the USPS van leaving. I went to the mailbox assuming my package would be there and it wasn't! I looked at the tracking number, and it was still showing that it would be "redelivered" soon. I called down to Newport USPS and spoke to a young man who attempted to contact the courier. The courier says he dropped my package off the day before, but forgot to scan it. The young man suggested it might have been stolen. What the hell?! Well who's fault is that! You are in a job dealing with federal mail. It is your obligation to be attentive to detail! Had he scanned it like he was supposed to, I would have had a family member go grab it while I was out... so now I'm just SOL and out of $100 for my package... whoever delivers to Fort Thomas area, DO BETTER!"
"If you live in or around downtown Cincinnati this post office can be worth a trip across the bridge. Easy to reach, not crowded, and open on Saturday. I have been there a few times and never had an issue."
