Sater Cemetery

"Sater Family Cemetery is located at 11599 Atherton Road, Harrison, Ohio. It is on the east side of Atherton Road and north of Willey Road. The Sater Cemetery is 400’ north of the Shaker Trace Trail aka Miami Whitewater Trail intersection. The Cemetery is surrounded by a substantial white picket fence at the front side with the entrance and along the both left and right sides of the Cemetery grounds. The back of the Cemetery has an iron-wrought fence. The area is well maintained. It is mowed on a regular basis and the stones are upright and secure. There are over 34 known records of burials in the Sater Family Cemetery of which 26 have been identified with the Sater Family name. There are also several other names including Gwaltney and Kilborn. The oldest headstone found is Hannah Sater (1816-1816). The most recent headstone is Thomas Sater’s (1854-1878). Most of the stones are dated between the 1850s and the 1860s. The Sater Family Cemetery is a relatively flat surface as a cemetery goes. There is no driveway or parking lot."
