Welcome to Oxford Friends Meeting, a vibrant and welcoming Quaker community located at 16 South Campus Avenue, Oxford, Ohio. Inspired by the words of Irwin Abrams, we see our worship not as a retreat from the world, but as a springboard for action and connection with the divine.

Join us every Sunday at 10:00 AM at The Interfaith Center for our Meeting for Worship. At Oxford Friends Meeting, we embrace the Quaker belief in “that of God in every person.” This profound conviction shapes our faith and practice, guiding us to follow the Spirit as revealed through our personal experiences rather than through rigid dogma. Our worship is rooted in a shared silence, where we wait expectantly and attentively for the leading of the Divine Spirit. In this sacred space, there is no appointed minister; instead, everyone present shares in the responsibility and blessing of worship. Anyone moved by the Spirit of God is welcome to speak, contributing to the collective renewal and spiritual growth of our community.

We warmly welcome first-time visitors and introduce them to our unique form of worship, which is based on silence and open-hearted listening. We enter the silence with open minds, ready to receive messages spoken in a loving spirit. While not every message may resonate with everyone, we trust that the spirit behind each message holds meaning and significance.

Our commitment to the Divine Spark within all individuals calls us to pursue nonviolence and social justice. This dedication is reflected in our conscientious objection to war and our historical involvement in the US antislavery movement. We believe, as Howard Brinton eloquently stated, that the spiritual and social messages of the Society of Friends are inseparable, like two sides of a door.
