"Dr. Ayers was the dentist that my mother recommended when I had to leave my pediatric dentist. I went with her to my first appointment to Dr. Ayers. Dr. Ayers told me that I had cavities in teeth 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 15. I was shocked, but I scheduled a filling for two teeth. While getting my cavity fillings, Dr. Ayers told me that my cavity was deep and she kept drilling deeper and deeper. When I left my cavity filling procedure, one of my fillings was sensitive to hot/cold temperatures, as well as chewing anything harder than a strawberry. I called the office and Dr. Ayers told me that fillings can hurt sometimes and that I should wait it out for a month or two. This was ridiculous to me as I have had cavity fillings at my pediatric dentist that did not hurt after a day or two. Months went by, and I finally had my records sent over to another dentist. I had a consultation with him once he had reviewed my "before" filling X-rays, and took an x-ray of the tooth that was causing me problems. He also examined all my teeth. My new dentist was reluctant to go over his findings with me. He told me that not only did he NOT find cavities in teeth 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 15 while looking at my mouth and on the xray, but that Dr. Ayers had filled teeth 28 and 30, in which he also did not see cavities on the x-ray. He said with how deep the fillings were, evidence of such an intense cavity would have been visible on an x-ray. My new dentist drilled out my filling from Dr. Ayers and placed a temporary medicated filling in my problem tooth, but after 3 months, there has been no replacement, and I now need a root canal. On a tooth that never needed a filling in the first place. Dr. Ayers has also had similar results on my father, who also needed a root canal after one of her fillings. I recommend avoiding Dr. Michelle Ayers if you care about your teeth."
