"Funny how I came across Robb Stein on google, owner of Alford Motors. He is a crook, has a warrant out for his arrest in Indy...they will be coming for you now Robb now that Covid restrictions are over. He stiffed a charter company out of 30K and wrote bad checks in that amount. Stay away from this guy and his business...he is a criminal. CINCINNATI — A local used car dealership at the center of a WLWT investigation is knee-deep in financial concerns. In November, WLWT reported dozens of people were sued for old car debt stemming from the same dealership. Now WLWT has learned of judgments against the dealership's finance company and its president and owner. The new details started to take shape within a few weeks of our last investigation. By February, businessman Robb Stein was sitting in a courtroom at the Hamilton County Courthouse, a scene that was months in the making "Mr. Stein, I'm glad that you're here. This is, I think, the fifth time that we've had this scheduled," said Magistrate Thomas Beridon. In November, WLWT reported that dozens of people had been sued by debt collectors for old debt tied to cars bought from Alford Motors in Carthage. It is a buy here, pay here dealership run by Stein. Consumers, like mother of three Sade Herron, were told they owed thousands, years after the fact, some for cars they had returned. "My understanding with this company is that this is over," Herron told WLWT last year.Cases like Herron's were brought to WLWT Investigative Reporter Jatara McGee's attention by court administrators. They alerted us to alleged inconsistencies in some of the dealership's old accounts. "Someone is getting a call saying you owe this amount of money on this car. And their response is, I haven't owned this car in three or four or five years," said Hamilton County Clerk of Courts Pavan Parikh. "How wasn't this caught sooner?" McGee asked. "That's a good question," Parikh said. The documentation from the dealership, which is now being used in court by debt collection companies, raised a number of questions. For example, how was one woman sued twice for a loan on one car? Attached to each lawsuit were two different sales contracts, signed by different car salesmen and including a different signature for the buyer. Furthermore, the woman wrote in a signed affidavit she "never purchased a car from Alford Motors, and I have never owned a Ford Explorer." Sharlene Graham, professor of Law at the Chase College of Law at NKU, reviewed the court documents and provided her opinion as an independent expert. "There is a lot in these cases to be gravely concerned about," Graham said. "There are some glaring irregularities." In a complaint to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Legal Aid Senior Attorney Matthew Fitzsimmons argued dozens of people were wrongfully sued and some had their wages wrongfully garnished. "For every one that we've helped, dozens more have certainly been sued, been garnished, may not know that they truly don't owe this money," Fitzsimmons said. Stein declined our repeated requests for a sit-down interview. We kept digging. WLWT found Stein and Alford Motors were being sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars by debt collection companies, all of which claimed they never received the used car accounts Stein and Alford had agreed to sell them or received accounts that were "incomplete," "false" or "misleading." "Obviously, the court is aware of the efforts we've made just to even get Mr. Stein to appear," attorney Nathaniel "Nate" Rose said at a Feb. 14 hearing. Rose, representing Orion Portfolio Services, talked about the efforts he took to get Stein to court. UPDATE-Robb Stein was arrested for his warrant out of Indiana on the check fraud case. Robb Stein is a criminal offender. FYI Robb Stein filed for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy since this article was put out last year. Good job Robb...loser!"
"If I could give them no stars I would. Don’t trust them; go to a reputable car lot. It’s better to ride the bus longer than purchase a vehicle from them."
"Horrible place this place need to be out of business ,bought a car in 2016 talk to there team told them I'll be bring the car back I know it buy here pay here but they sell junk just buy a bike better off"
"Horrible place to take your car. My car broke down directly in front of this shop. They did help me push my car on their lot. They told me it is my starter. I bought the starter. They charged me $400 labor to put it in! I called my local mechanic and he said he would charge me $200 for labor. At this point l knew I was getting screwed. I was about 50 miles from home so I decided to have them fix it. Well, after the starter was put in the car still would not start. They said it was electrical and it will cost me over 2000,00 to fix. I said just put it back together and I had my local mechanic come and tow it back to his shop. My local mechanic told me that 2 wires had been cut and then someone tried to solder the 2 wires together. I should have never left my car there. There were never any wires cut on my car before it broke down in front of this shop. NEVER take your car here!! They still charged me $400.00 for putting in a starter and my car still don't run."
