Reviews
"Rude workers. Terribly unprofessional environment and administration. Shame due to it being such an awesome building with so many resources."
"For a historic library I expected more. Every book I looked for wasn't in the spot it was suppose to be in. The ladies that was working seemed like I was bothering them when they was just chatting."
"A retired 5th-grade teacher aggressively assaulted me and pushed me outside of the library. While I trying to comfort my daughter and put her in the car seat. And I don't plan on going back. It was not a safe environment for me and my child and/or children. Nothing was done I recommend other local community libraries."
"So glad I got to stop and check out this library. The place is more than remarkable. If you're into architecture, this is a must visit. I will say that I kinda expected the inside to be more interesting, but it was still impressive. So awesome that some people have donated back to society, to create a long lasting impression long after they are gone. Thank you Mr. Brumback."
"The Ohio TuesDayTrips crew happened upon the Brumback Library and decided to check it out. It is a cool building erected in 1901 and has the distinction of being the first county library in the United States. Go figure, here in Van Wert, Ohio. This is one truly remarkable building shaped like a castle and the interior is phenomenal with the original marble tile floors and vaulted ceiling. The entry is a sitting area and actually has a grand piano in it for community events. One thing that impressed Ken was the neatness of the stacks. All the books were evenly set in the shelves. At most libraries, the books are jutting in or out on the shelves in some messy random order. Not here. That takes time and attention to detail."
