About the Business
Welcome to Veterans Memorial Park, a place of honor and reflection located at 701 Wessel Drive, Fairfield, Ohio. Dedicated on Memorial Day 2001, this serene park stands as a tribute to the brave men and women who have fought for our freedom. Conceived through the collaborative vision of Fairfield City Council, Fairfield VFW Post 1069, Fairfield Amvets Post 71, and the Veterans Memorial Park committee, it offers a peaceful retreat for remembrance.
At the heart of the park is the striking granite monument, "Tears for the Fallen," where water gently cascades over the stone, symbolizing tears shed for those lost in war. This 3,000-pound monument, standing six feet tall, is a poignant reminder of sacrifice.
A significant feature of the park is "Poppies," a life-size bronze sculpture of a war veteran by renowned artist W. Stanley "Sandy" Proctor. Unveiled on Memorial Day 2002, this sculpture is one of only 30 editions and was acquired thanks to generous contributions from Pella Entry Systems, VFW Post 1069, the City of Fairfield, and the Veterans Memorial Park committee.
Adding to the park's historical significance is the 105 mm Howitzer cannon, a 4,980-pound artillery piece donated by an armed forces base in Kentucky and restored by Fairfield's Public Works Department. This cannon served as vital support for infantry units in combat, further commemorating the park's dedication to military history.
Visitors can also stroll along pathways lined with brick paver stones, each engraved with the names of loved ones who served in all branches of the armed forces, purchased by community members and organizations.
Veterans Memorial Park invites you to pause, reflect, and honor the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our nation.

Reviews
"A decent park to stop and relax. There's picnic tables and a sheltered area to sit. I visited in early spring, so there wasn't much in the garden. There are no restrooms here."
"Super nice park with an upgraded playground. Has an event building you're able to rent out that is beautiful inside. The view is SPECTACULAR"
"I very rarely get the opportunity to visit this park, but every time that I have, I have been impressed with how clean and well-kept it is. It makes for a relaxing visit every time I do come!"
"Great place for an elopement quick ceremony! Height of fall, so leaves were at peak. Pictures are great!"
"It's a small park that's attributed to the US Veterans. It has 3-4 picnic tables, pretty flowers & tall shade trees plus a gazebo. I would guve it 5 stars, but someone keeps moving the picnic tables making their handicapped parking useless."
