"We were there 2 days after a heavy rain. Not good. It seems like the park is in a flood zone. There were some very muddy parts, even a small pond formed blocking the trail. Also a lot of road noise."
"Trail is quite wide and maintained well. Views of wetlands with portions of trail under tree canopy ( shaded). Some sloping areas. One small side trail with view of Indian Creek. Views will be better in winter and early spring before vegetation blocks view."
"Very nice natural trail. We were able to take our little one in a stroller."
"I want to thank Jerry and Stephanie Broshear for naming the Green Heron Wetland and Wildlife Sanctuary Park and their generous donation of the land to Butler Metro Parks. Why is there no recognition of this fact on your web site or at the Park?"

A few weeks ago, I set out on a journey to discover one of the hidden gems of Cincinnati: Green Heron MetroPark. The sun was high and the heat was intense, and I was completely alone on the trail, which was exactly what I had been hoping for. The trailhead was well marked and I eagerly set out on the trail, looking forward to what lay ahead. The trail was a primitive one, with dirt paths and uneven terrain, but it was also well marked with informative trail markers. As I hiked deeper into the park, I couldn't help but marvel at the beauty of the natural surroundings. It was springtime, and the trees and plants were vibrant and alive with color. The park was virtually untouched and unspoiled, and the quiet rural location ensured that there was little noise to disturb the peace and tranquility. The highlight of my hike was the enchanting clover field, which was lightly covered with a soft and thin layer of clover that looked almost magical. It was a true feast for the senses, with the colors, smells, and sounds of nature surrounding me on all sides. As I continued on the trail, I encountered several other walkers who were also enjoying the beauty of the park. It was clear that the park was a hidden gem that was cherished by those who knew about it. Overall, Green Heron MetroPark quickly became one of my favorite parks and trails in Cincinnati. The fact that it is not overly crowded was a major plus for me, as I prefer to have the trail to myself and bask in the quiet isolation of nature. I highly recommend this trail to anyone who loves hiking and wants to experience the beauty of Cincinnati's natural wonders. I kindly request that you avoid coming on Mondays, as you may just find me there, enjoying my own little slice of heaven."
