"I have visited several times to do bird counts for Ebird. Very clean and well-maintained trails and property. Love the boardwalk which is handicap accessible."
"I stopped in for the first time to check this place out. It is a lovely nature center, even now in the late fall. I’ll have to stop in at other times of the year to see the beauty in each season. It certainly looks like a great place to learn and enjoy nature. The one thing I didn’t like was there is a corn field that butts up right to the forest trails and wetlands, and today there was farm equipment spraying chemicals on the field. It smelled horrible and was presumably glyphosate, since that familiar smell permeates the air in rural Preble County at times. Possibly the county or park district doesn’t own the field and can’t do anything about it, but the land slopes down towards the woods, and unfortunately all those chemicals will get washed into the wetlands and then into the woods and into the creek. That seems to go against what the nature preserve is about. It would be great if someday the field, or a large portion of, could be turned into a meadow with native grasses and flowers."
"Nicely maintained beautiful trails. Unfortunately I missed peak fall color by a few days"
