"All I will say is that I hope Murray has matured in His faith, and actually promotes grace, he severely lacked this year's ago. Update (08/25/2024), many years later, I read your reply and you know anyone can throw scripture out there, (even the devil knows scripture) but being applicable with it is what matters. Refusing to own the lack of grace bestowed back then but rather justify by throwing scripture shows no maturity existed and shows you believe deflection works best. I will return in another few years and see if Grace has yet to find it's place. Update 08/26/2024 Wow, more scripture, more deflection but no ownership, that didn't take long, and only confirms that which was earlier stated. Again, scripture given with no application shows the lack of understanding and thereby will change no one if not applied."
"I went there back in 1979. I was a rebellious teenager with a suspended sentence to OYC. I can't say anything bad about it. I really enjoyed working in the machine shop. I got kicked out for of all things standing outside the dorm on the hill and getting high before church. It was a good experience for me. Really my first interaction with Jesus people. I remember the man who ran the machine shop asking me to help clean a building they threw all the garbage bags in before we took them to the dump. As we worked he told what Jesus did for him and it was really impressive. Keep up the good work. Even those of us who didn't make it there were able to go on to find the Lord. Keep planting seeds."
"Honestly was one of the worse experiences of my life. I told the heavyset bald guy I needed my psyc meds he said no just pray over me. Over the course of the month of my mental health going down and slave labor my counselor was stoned some days the staff would steal food donations for the guys and eat and drink it themselves, they took away my workout including me aloud to walk around for exercise because I smoked a cigarette, being punished is it me thing but not being aloud to walk around?!? That was the final straw after a few days I tweaked and left the fat bald guy with glasses broke the law after called my now wife and a few other people and told them what happened. I left in cuffs do to a warrant but HIPPA ya know. It was like 2am and we were having another church service pastor Murphy and his red head virgin son would force us to stay up til 1 2 even 3 am sometimes for church and we would still have to be up at like 6 am. Any how the cops even said how crazy the place was . I was told if I left I would go to hell and relapse and yadayadayada I'm sober and been since. A man there once told me we are getting brainwashed because our brains are so dirty I'll never forget that he thought he was making a good point with that. I felt bad for brother Wagner he could be souch if he wasn't there I hope that pace didn't take him down. Last thing even if you pay they make you do slave labor another location also will still charge your insurance not sure about this location and steal it from you state check if you get it. Insurance fraud much . If you care about becoming sober don't listen to their B's numbers I was told like 98% success rate NO nowhere has that."
"Thank You, Brother and Sister Murray! I'm forever grateful for having had this amazing opportunity. I probably wasn't the most pleasant to be around at all times, lol...but you and the staff, through the love, mercy and grace of Jesus Christ, have enabled me to be the man my family deserves!"
"I tried this program many years ago. I really don't have anything bad to say about it. The people were really great, minus a few of the counselors. I went into the program not knowing how religious it was. It ended up being too much for me to wrap my head around. When I decided to leave, I wasn't happy about how I was treated. When I think back on it, these people wanted me to stay, not because it benefited them in any way. But because they cared about my well being. I have 8 years sober this year and God has blessed my life in more ways than I can count. God bless Pastor Murray and everyone at teen challenge! While this approach isn't really my style, it still helped me find God, and for that, im forever grateful."
