My father passed away in Florida, so Dooley Funeral Home made all the arrangements for a Florida cremation and transfer of the remains to Ohio. Shawn helped select the plot, gave us gravestone renderings to choose from, and arranged the graveside service, including flowers, all long distance since we reside in Florida as well. "I sent a gift basket of food for a family to enjoy in a hospitality area during the visitation of their loved one. A chance for them to get away and get a bite during the hours-long process. It was shipped directly to the funeral home attn to a family member. There were specialty pretzels and barks and chocolate covered treats. The funeral director/staff apparently opened the package, saw there were nuts in some of the packages and chose not to set out ANY of the food - nor tell the family that the package was even there. Not even the family member it was addressed to. There were plenty of no-nut options in the package. As far as I’m concerned this funeral home took away my acknowledgment of someone’s passing without a thought to alert me. I even looked up the tracking number to make sure it had been delivered on time. Received and signed for by Dooley nearly 5 full hours before visitation started. Wholly unacceptable and unprofessional."
