"Not professional and dishonest, not fair. No need to deep clean before leaving. They will charge you about $350 for cleaning to clean what you have already done. Maintenance will charge you $95 to replace a bulb that was working the day I left or to replace a flickering bulb that was working the day I left which means they lied. They will take three quarters of your deposit. The boss covers for maintenance and cleaning crew. The boss goes along with whatever they say. Be aware before leaving! These people cannot be trusted."
"I have been living in Carolina Pines for roughly 10 months. My place is managed by Coastal Realty and Development. I moved in in February. The place was not the best but I needed something fast as I had just gotten a job in the area. There were many minor problems/issues with the apartment that I wrote down during the walk through inspection. I was assured they would be fixed but only a few things were taken care of. I would say 2 out of the 10-15 things listed were fixed. Again they were minor so I didn’t make a big deal. It’s all written down (and provided to them) so Im not worried too much about being charged upon move out for issues that were there prior to me. The issue I have is that beginning in maybe June or July, we started to see bugs (roaches) in our apartment. I called them and they came out to spray. Well here it is end of October and we STILL have them. Not one or 2 here or there...more like 3-4 a day which is quite disgusting. I’ve been calling them and trying to work with them since the summer and nothing has changed. I was told once that I needed to make sure that I wasn’t leaving out any food. Well duh, that’s the first thing to look for. I’ve never had roaches prior to moving here and I’m infuriated. I was told by the owner or manager that I could call Wright Management if I was interested in a different treatment plan than what they offered, so I did. I had it all set up and on the day of the treatment, I was told that the owner of my unit decided she was not going to pay the $100.00 it was going to cost for the treatment. Are you kidding me? I packed all my things for this treatment to be told it won’t happen! Back to square 1. CRD was treating my home once a week for 5 or 7 weeks. The product they were using was not touching the bugs whatsoever. They were still there. They went to some powdery substance as a form of treatment and still nothing. I started taking pictures of the bugs for record. Yesterday I uploaded the pictures to the Tenant Portal and requested they come and spray. Well today I received a text from someone at the office stating they went inside my unit to inspect and they didn’t see any bugs...I was told that I needed to place my bottle of vegetable oil in the fridge and wipe the stove (something that has been wiped a million times but the stains are permanent and has been since move in). Anyway, they are now going to treat my unit every 30 days because they didn’t see any when they entered...as if the bugs are sitting there waiting for someone to come home. I’m extremely upset. I have a 5 year old child who almost carried a bug to school in his lunch bag. I’ve almost carried one to work in my purse. They sometimes drop from the top of the door when it’s opened. This is quite disgusting. I have never once paid my rent late and do not complain about any issues aside from this. I do not recommend anyone living here unless you don’t mind roaches invading your space. I wish I didn’t have to write this review but I’m saving someone else the misery. After looking at all the reviews from other tenant like me within the past few months, it’s quite obvious that I’m not the only one with the problem. I cannot wait until my lease is up because this will be absolute last time I live here. On a side note: the people that work in the office are nice...they sympathized with me; it’s just the big problem."
"Do not rent with these guys. When I rented with them a year ago many things were damaged in the house. We did complain about a few but at the end they used all our deposit to pay for the damages. Moreover they charged the house keeping on us as well. It was clear that they did not want to return the deposit. When I tried calling and asking for an explanation they said to write a letter and disconnected the phone abruptly."
"The annual meeting and bbq is always a good way to interact with other homeowners in Myrtle Greens and to find out what Jeff (the owner) has up his sleeve. I heard from another homeowner yesterday in Myrtle Greens that Jeff got rid of ANOTHER Rental Coordinator at Coastal Realty & Development. He hired his son’s girlfriend to replace the one he just let go. She seems young and inexperienced and probably won’t last long after her and the boyfriend break up. I feel bad for all those guys that work in maintenance. They are always willing to help and go above and beyond but we all know they get treated badly and don’t make enough money to live. I don’t know how anyone can work with this man. I avoid going into the office when paying my dues because his comments are extremely unnecessary. The comments below seem to be accurate. We heard that there is another homeowner in another community he manages that is extremely hands on and wants Jeff to retire. We need some fresh blood and someone that really cares. Jeff needs to come to grips that the homeowners, tenants, employees and probably his own wife and children can’t stand him and he needs to move to Florida into a retirement community."
"I wish I could give these people zero stars! Jeff, the owner, is very unprofessional and rude. His sidekick Ryan is no better. They do not know how to speak to people, even their own employees. It's no wonder they go through about three leasing agents in one year. Coastal Realty and Development is very unfair in how they treat their tenants and forces tenants to pay for things they should take care of. They will harass you about 'past due' fees you know nothing about and even threaten you with eviction if they aren't paid. Please please stay far away from these people; you get LESS that what you pay for dealing with this company."
