"Be aware that some who ride the dragon are not experienced and sometimes the experienced are overconfident! This is an awesome stretch of road, not for the faint of heart! But a must ride to do list! I've had many happy returns and few close calls! Avoid the weekends and holidays! There are so many other roads up there to enjoy. This is but one of them.."

"Forget your pre-1980 vintage panhead or timeless opposed V Moto Guzzi. Tennessee and N.C. are banning older bikes from riding the Gap. There are really no worthwhile explanations. The oil leak factor ? Most guys riding these babies aren't prone to low maintenance. 2 strokes throwing a litter oil ? Yeah. Maybe."
