We have been so blessed to be surrounded by a community of believers and friends that believe the Bible is Gods true and inspired Word and that our faith in Christ alone is the only way to Heaven. "River Oaks is amazing! You walk through the front door and can tell the church body is filled with the joy of knowing God. The choices of Sunday School classes are solid! The kids are always excited to go to their Sunday School and youth group and the staff lovingly welcomes them. The worship team leads the congregation in songs that prepare your heart for the sermon. The elders welcome you while offering prayer and guidance if needed. The pastors preach through books of the Bible, verse by verse and in context, teaching how all of scripture points you to the gospel of Jesus Christ. On the way home, if you ask the kids what they learned, be ready to hear more about Jesus :) You go to Growth Group later in the week, and discover what Biblical community looks like as you discuss Sunday's sermon. "After church-shopping for a full year, my wife and I were getting discouraged from not finding a place that felt right for us. After visiting River Oaks only once, we knew we were where the Lord wants us to be. The members are overwhelmingly friendly and knowledgeable of scripture, our small kids love the children's department, and the hard-working pastor and elders preach straight from the bible. Also worth noting, they will get you plugged in right away to a growth group (small group), where you can participate in fellowship at peoples' homes or at the church throughout the week. I must also say that the music is excellent and is a wonderful mixture between classic hymns and contemporary music that certainly focuses on worship and giving honor to God through song. My wife and I are in our early thirties, and while we tend to be a bit old-fashioned in some ways regarding church, we were happy to see modernization in terms of technology and social media participation at River Oaks. We were also pleased to see such a wonderful amount of diversity within the church; people of all ages and races worshiping Jesus in fellowship. After attending for only a few weeks, our young niece and nephew came to Christ, and I was honored to baptize them here. Soon after, we were happy to become members. We are so blessed that God finally put us where we needed to be to best serve Him."
