"Apparently first thing in the morning (when people are trying to get kids to school and leave for work) is the perfect time to close busy small roads for paving (and standing around of course...it wouldn't be a government crew if 10 of them weren't standing around talking). At least they typically only pave half a road and that half they only halfway pave..."
"One thing is for sure,,I did not vote for Mr. Hendrick this year. I've never seen the weeds so high along the County roads. Worst I've ever seen it. I've been calling since March of 2022 about our ditch needing cleaned out. I've made numerous phone calls and even went to the main office. August is here and still nothing. Our road is awful. Potholes and never is worked on. A very Disfunctional leadership"
"My subdivision Raulston View is a disgrace. Pot holes everywhere, and cracks all over the road with water seeping out continuously. oh sure they sent someone out to look at it on a day that it was raining. on the rare occasions that they have come out they just put a patch on the holes and then six months or less usually the same problem is there again. Why can't it be fixed the correct way once and for all and be done with it? I know the people in my subdivision will remember this come election time."
"I have contacted them four times over the last year (twice using the online form, 1 voicemail and 1 talking to someone) concerning storm water coming down both sides of my property. One side keeps washing out the sides of my driveway and the other has created a ditch along the property line and has killed three trees, They simply refuse to even discuss the issue. They are the ones that installed "water diverters" on the road that help contribute to this. I just need them to build up the asphalt at the end of my driveway and my neighbors to fix this."
"In our opinion the highway department needs to stop and reorganize. For the past year and half we had several meetings about our neighborhood roads and drainage issues. That’s all it been talk and nothing has been done just a bunch of promise to shout our concerns. Don’t know about others but we have nothing good to say about our Blount County Highway Department.
