"Nice country laid back church"
"I enjoyed visiting Pine Log Baptist Church. Sunday School starts at 10 a.m. The bell rang for the church service at 11 a.m., but on the Sunday I was there, the service started about 10 minutes later. That’s because before the service, the pastor, Rev. Kevin Miller, was personally greeting everyone in the sanctuary, which I thought was a delightful touch. I was warmly greeted by many folks. There was hand sanitizer and a box of Dunkin’ doughnut holes on a table up front. Pine Log Baptist is the only small church I’ve seen that offers a wireless headphone system to the hard-of-hearing. There were about 25 people attending the Sunday I was there. A woman a few pews ahead of me handed mints to anyone who wanted them. There is a fellowship hall and a children’s classroom, but I didn’t see any young children at the church. Hopefully more young families and kids will come in the future. The service lasted about an hour. Rev. Miller spoke with gentle humility and sincerity, which I found refreshing. The sermon was very scripture-based and the verses he used were typed on the back of the bulletin. Pine Log was also the only small church I’ve seen that uses a digital screen for sermon notes but not for song lyrics. Instead, we sang from hymnals at the pews, led during worship by the pastor's wife and a man on guitar. Overall, it’s a delightful little church with a kind-hearted pastor and well worth a visit!"
