"Update: After receiving an email from Payless stating that, "due to recent changes on how insurance companies deal with small claims such as minor damages, glass and tire damage we no longer take pictures for this damages" and "If you have documentation showing the damage was pre existing please send it to us, Please note that when sending your documentation it must be on a PDF or JPG file below 2MB." There was no damages done to the car when I dropped it off. After seeing other reviews, it's clear they have a habit of fraudulently billing customers for "repair" charges knowing most people don't take pictures when they drop it off to show proof that it wasn't damaged. If they had an agent look over the car before and after would mitigate this from happening. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The car was fine. It was the surprise bill I got for "damages" incurred over a month after I returned the car. I called the number on the email to dispute the charge so that will be a process but they are stating it's because of tire repair. Even though when I dropped it off the tire light was not on. Any damages after I dropped it off is not on me. If they go forward with the charges I will dispute the charges with my bank as fraud."

"I rented a vehicle that was missing a rear bumper molding. Before leaving the airport, I brought it to the attention of the agent and was told, “yeah, we know about that, you’re fine”. Two months later, they billed me $300 for the repairs. Fortunately I took photos that are time and location stamped for the dispute."
"Car was great aside from being a little dirty inside. After returning the car, earbuds were left in it. I called to see if they were returned or turned into lost and found. I got the run around til I decided to be more assertive. Finally, they proceeded to tell me they are looking into it. Also told them the address they pinged to. It's been about a month now. They still ping to the same address in Knoxville. Apartments off Chapman hwy. I'm sure the person who did the return inspection has them. Make sure you leave nothing in the car. It will be taken, and they will give you the run around and then do nothing about it. They have a lost and found, but when I check, nothing is returned. I'll never use this company again."
"The car I picked up was dirty, with old food crumbs caked into the seams of the gear shifter. There were muddy footprints in both the front and backseat, with dirt on the seats. For perspective, I was the only person in the car. Whoever drove the car before me taught the lane assist to hug the inner portion of the lane so that when I drove in the center of the lane, the car would correct to hug that inside line. I felt like I was fighting the car to stay IN the lane for every curve. I will not use this company again. I will say the staff at pick up and drop off were very friendly and I would give them 5/5 stars."
