Welcome to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rocky Top, Tennessee

Located at 623 Jacksboro Avenue, Rocky Top, Tennessee, our church is a place of worship and community for all who seek to follow Jesus Christ. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the World. His love for us surpasses all understanding, and we strive to be devoted followers of His teachings.

Our Beliefs and Worship Services

We hold a distinct set of beliefs centered around the life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we believe saves us from sin, suffering, and death. Our Sunday services feature a main worship service, known as the "sacrament meeting," where we gather for songs, prayers, and sermons delivered by different congregation members each week. A central part of this meeting is taking the sacrament, akin to communion, to remember the Savior. Following the sacrament meeting, we offer classes tailored for children, youth, and adults.

The Importance of Temples

For Latter-day Saints, temples are sacred spaces where we receive special teachings about God and Jesus Christ. In the temple, members make eternal covenants with God, such as keeping the commandments and living the gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe in eternal families, and temple marriages are meant to last beyond this life. The work done in temples strengthens family bonds and extends blessings to ancestors through sacred ordinances performed on their behalf.

Scripture and Guidance

The Book of Mormon, alongside the Bible, is a sacred volume of scripture that guides us closer to God and Jesus Christ. Compiled by an ancient prophet named Mormon, it offers insights and teachings relevant to our lives today. Together, the Bible and the Book of Mormon provide a fuller understanding of God's love for us. We believe in the Bible as the word of God and find joy in living its teachings, complemented by other unique scriptures of our faith.
