"Don’t understand why no signage. Beautiful area. Walk farther than I remembered."
"Quick and easy 0.3 mile walk each way. The whole thing took 15 minutes. Bring bug spray though the bugs are brutal especially at the end/where you'll want to spend the most time. Wish there was a plaque adding context to what we were seeing and the info board at the site was empty/not maintained."
"Visited September 2023 Beautiful spot, but the September mosquitoes were absolutely brutal on the walk from the parking lot to the memorial site. I can't speak for other times of year regarding mosquitoes."
"Beautiful site memorializing the council house of the Cherokee. Also is the burial site of Chief Oconastota. The drive there is pleasant and there is a cul de sac parking area. You must walk approximately 1/4 mile to the memorial on a peninsula. It is a smooth flat walk, but not wheelchair friendly (mostly grass and gravel)."
"Excellent tribute to the Cherokee Clans. Paved roads and ample parking are a bonus. You will have to walk a little over a 1/4 mile from the parking area to the memorial. Well done."
