Reviews of Freels Bend Cabin
"The cabin is not open to the public. There are just gravel TVA service roads along Freels Bend peninsula."
"It is not a tourist site, it is on government property and not open to the public."
"Cool place to check out but you must go through the city of oak ridge"
"Can't get there! Looks neat and tried to see it. Feels Bend Road is closed with a Government gate and sign "No Trespassing US Government Property For Official Use Only" I don't see how anyone could get back there. What a shame to hide away our history like that :("
"“The Freels Bend Cabin was one of the earliest cabins built in Anderson County. Construction on the cabin was begun in 1810 by Edward Freels. The cabin was a double-pen, hewn-log structure. Techniques in its construction are representative of those used in the area in the early 19th century. It is Oak Ridge's only remaining residence that was built in that century.
