"It's a nice peaceful spot to see the river and wildlife. It is a bit shaky though it's in need of some maintenance and repair!!!"
"Coal tower is on private railroad property so please do not trespass. The property is over grown in weeds but luckily it’s still around and not torn down."
"Abandoned? Thats quite the understatement. It is stripped of all useful equipment AND tracks. Extremely disappointing. I pulled up with my locomotive and tender and found nothing. No signs, no instructions, no service number to call. Its as if nobody has one of these things to service steam anymore. I cannot recommend this tower to any trainmen in the area. I'll try the one in Baldwin. I'll even try the one in Lake if I have to. This is frustrating."
"Coal tower (or coal tipple for purists) abandoned since the age of steam. The tower is visible from the end of Cobbs Lane without violating the NO TRESPASSING signs of the railroad or the UAW hall. One website says it is scheduled for demolition, so you might want to hurry to see this relic of a bygone era."
