Welcome to the Galien Fire Department, proudly serving our community from our station located at 305 Kiley Drive, Galien, Michigan 49113. As a dedicated fire station, we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents through prompt emergency response and proactive fire prevention measures.

Important Reminder: For any open fires on the ground, a burning permit is required. These permits can be easily obtained by completing the necessary form either online or at our Township Offices/Fire Station, free of charge. Please remember that, as per state law, burning building materials or garbage is strictly prohibited.

Our team is continuously improving their skills and equipment to better serve you. Recently, we acquired new wildland gear thanks to a generous grant from the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Our firefighters are eager to showcase this gear, which enhances their safety and effectiveness in battling wildfires.

Training is at the heart of what we do. Our crew regularly engages in exercises to sharpen their skills, including using Thermal Imaging Cameras (TIC) to navigate in smoke-filled environments and practicing hose line techniques with masks covered. Additionally, we collaborate with neighboring departments, such as the Bertrand Fire Department, for joint training sessions on vehicle extrication using the jaws of life.
