"The Lodge is an idyllic retreat. We did a family reunion and every age group from kids, teenagers, adults and seniors all had a wonderful time. Over four days, we never desired to leave the premises as there is so much to do. The indoor pool with slide is much fun, fishing to your hearts content, 13 miles of hiking with beautiful scenery, relaxing on the pontoon, kayaking, basketball, tennis, game room. The residences are well decorated, clean and comfortable. Go star gazing by the lake or watch a movie in the theatre. Elevators for the elderly and disabled. The staff is super accommodating and the nicest hosts we’ve ever dealt with on AirBnB…..Can’t recommend a better place….all an hour’s drive from Chicago."
"We had a fantastic get-together with a group of college friends for a couple of nights, sort of a mini-reunion! The Lodge and grounds are amazing - very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped with about everything you need for a relaxing and fun time. The staff was attentive and made sure everything was up to par. We thoroughly enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, the views, dining on the large, screened-in deck with a built-in grill, a well-equipped large kitchen for preparing group meals, an electric pontoon boat ride around the lake, and exploring a fraction of the trails around the property and 2 other lakes. We squeezed in some cornhole on the large, terraced lawn overlooking the lake and even tried out some pickleball - luckily one of our party knew what he was doing! The rooms we stayed in were on the lower level of the main building with walk-out patios overlooking the cool babbling brook or the lawn; the beds were very comfortable with nice linens and room darkening shades, clean and well-maintained bathrooms. We did see the separate event venue which was not in use during our stay; it looks like a great place for a wedding or business event/retreat. Overall, the Lodge at Rush Lakes is a perfect place for group or large family events, weddings and corporate off-sites."
"Magical is the best way we could find to describe The Lodge at Rush Lakes. The website photos do not do it justice. You have to see it to believe it. Everything is absolutely beautiful. The Lodge itself is immaculate. The 3 lakes and nature trails are so impressive. Then, just when you think it could not be any more beautiful, you run across a gorgeous waterfall. The indoor pool and hot tub do not disappoint either. Add in the theatre room, tennis and basketball courts and the ride on the boat around the lake and there is no need to venture away from this breathtaking destination. An absolutely perfect venue for weddings, family get togethers, or just a fantastic escape with something for everyone."
"**A Perfect Fiends and Family Retreat!** Our 4th of July weekend getaway at Rush Lakes exceeded all expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of the spaciousness and comfort this property offered. The house is enormous, providing ample room for everyone to relax and enjoy their time together without feeling crowded. The living spaces are beautifully designed and furnished. The large windows throughout the home offer breathtaking views of the lake. The kitchens are a dream for any cooking enthusiast, fully equipped with modern appliances. Each bedroom was ample, well equipped, most with en-suite bathrooms, with high quality products. The outdoor spaces were just as impressive. The kids had a blast paddle boarding, fishing and playing , while the adults enjoyed the tranquility of the surroundings. The property also features fantastic entertainment rooms with large TVs,, movie theater and a pool room! ensuring there was always something to keep everyone entertained. The location of this lake home is ideal, offering a perfect blend of seclusion and convenience. We felt a world away from the hustle and bustle, yet were just a short drive from Chicago."
"My recent stay at the Lodge at Rush Lakes was so special. I stayed in the main house in the bridal suite. It's a very large room with its own adjacent living room and kitchen. The king-sized bed is very comfortable, and the bathroom has a separate soaking tub and shower. The views of the lake from that room are gorgeous! We enjoyed relaxing evenings on the screened porch, cooked great meals in the well-equipped kitchen, and loved the tranquil setting on the lake. I even got to take my morning swim in the indoor pool. But the real star of Rush Lakes is the grounds. We spent our days outside enjoying the miles of hiking trails and the lakes themselves. We didn't have time to take the boat or kayak out, but you always need to save something for your next visit, don't you? I was with a group of friends, and it really felt like we were at summer camp for grownups. We were there during morel season and foraged more than enough mushrooms to cook for lunch the next day. Plus, the catch and release fishing was awesome! I was a total beginner and lost track of the number of bass and pike that I caught. I will definitely stay there again. It's the perfect place for a large group of friends or family. Everybody has their own space but can also be together."
