"Not marked well once you get past the first markers on the Red trail. It seems to converge with North Country trail. It was a nice hike but we felt unsure at junctions and splits. The map was nice. You do need bug spray for this hike."
"This was my first time coming here and I rode the entire outer loop, trails are VERY rough compared to mosquito creek, but still do-able. These trails are very rural and you have to drive on a 2 mile or so dirt road to get to the parking. Not many people here either, saw one person after riding the entire outer loop on a sunny Saturday, and he let me know I lost a bike lock because of how many bumps are on the trail! Better hope you don't get a flat tire because you'll be hitting a stick in the dirt every 10 feet. Trail could definitely use some more maintenance, had to get the bike over 2 downed trees and I helped move a smaller tree off the trail. These trails would be amazing if more maintenance was done."
"Wonderfully peaceful place to walk among the aspens. There are easy, difficult, and hard trails to walk (and the hard ones are in fact hard!). You get a very nice workout here - we usually do three to five miles - and it’s not crowded. We just let the dog run free. And no loud motor vehicles to contend with either. It’s a nice place to hang for a morning or work up and appetite in the afternoon for dinner."
"The state forest is riddled with well traveled pathways and very well marked out. seems like it's a mature forest and we found it to be a truly enchanting hike. The difficulty level was moderate. just a few rolling hills but otherwise the paths are wide and well kept."
"Great place to take a hike. Some moderate hills but nothing too difficult. It's in the middle of nowhere. That makes for a nice relaxing hike. There are several different trails options. We did a just over 3 mile hike. Trails are well marked."
