Welcome to Lake Breeze Nature Preserve, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Pentwater, Michigan. Located at the south end of Lake Breeze Drive, just east of Ridge Road, our preserve offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty of untouched nature. With convenient parking available along Lake Breeze Drive, your adventure begins the moment you arrive.

While there are no formal trails, intrepid explorers can wander freely through a diverse forest landscape, featuring birch, pine, hemlock, maple, and oak trees. Among the highlights are the majestic white pines and American beech trees—living monuments to the forest's rich history. Keep an eye out for the massive rotting stumps, remnants of the logging era nearly a century ago.

Lake Breeze Nature Preserve, along with a neighboring conservation easement, safeguards over 100 acres of pristine coastal forest and wetland habitats, ensuring these vital ecosystems remain protected from development. This sanctuary was made possible by the vision and generosity of 18 families from the Lake Breeze Association, who purchased the land to prevent further development and donated it to the Land Conservancy of West Michigan in 1990.

As the Land Conservancy of West Michigan, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the region. Our mission is to keep nature nearby, empowering individuals and communities to protect, enjoy, and care for the natural landscapes of West Michigan. We achieve this by establishing public nature preserves, supporting local initiatives to create natural areas, and assisting private landowners in conserving their land.
