"The Chris Thompson Memorial Preserve is also a Chikaming open land property. It is a newer Preserve that it’s still in the beginning stages of putting it together. A large portion of this preserve is a prairie that is under restoration. Most of the trails are mowed Grass or packed dirt. Right now you’re only gonna get about a mile to a mile and a half of distance here however I have read in some places that there are future plans to connect this preserve to some nearby neighboring properties which would be really awesome. This is kid friendly dog on leash friendly, probably not handicap accessible there are no facilities, there is a very small parking area off the road and if you’re not looking closely you can drive right past us. I was here late last summer and it’s nice to see the changes that are already taking place here as they restore this property. This is part of the #chikamingopenlands #10trail Challenge and is one of those trails where you can Included with several other of the smaller trail systems if you’re looking for more mileage in a day."
