"Campground is rustic. Pit toilets but there is a water spigot for fresh water. Roadway is paved. Pics on the National Campground site is deceiving. The sites on the water do not give a great view of water except site 8, 12 & 13. Water access from sites nearly impossible because of plant growth on shoreline. There is a boat landing. No beach. On the positive side, great place for canoe or kayakers. Fishing is fantastic. Hiking trails very close to campground. Nice and quiet place. Very secluded. Camp host very friendly and very knowledgeable about area."
"I would 200% recommend this campground for anyone and everyone. There are bathrooms close, no matter where you stay. Nice small campground off the beaten path. The lake is great. Kinda mucky bottom but it didn't deter my kids they swam for hours. They have aeration in the lake for the fish. Heard there was decent fishing but didn't do any fishing ourselves. Nice sized sites and didn't seem to be right on top of each other. Listened to the frogs all night long. Definitely bring thermacells or some sort of bug deterrent, the horse flies were pretty bad. My kids had a blast and we will be back many more times for sure! Also at the turn around there is a short little path to the second lake/pond. Was a gorgeous place to just take it all in and listen to the birds, frogs and fish."
"The campground was well kept and put together. Mosquitos pretty bad in mid-August. Beautiful views of the lake, especially around sunset. Plus, it was pleasantly quiet. Unfortunately, the nearby Round Lake trails were completely overgrown, with knee high grass and plants, and frequent downed trees in the path. The mosquitos and trails were so bad that we had to find somewhere else to hike."
"Nice small campground, quite a few mosquitos even in mid August. Caught one largemouth bass."
"This is a very nice rustic campground. Stayed 6/15/19-6/16/19. Cost: $15 per night. Half of the campsites are along the lake the other half on the other side of the campground road. All sites have a fire pit ring with a swivel camp grill, and a newer picnic table. Sites are separated adequately with trees for privacy. Some lakefront sites do not have direct access to the lake as there is a semi steep embankment, however there is a boat landing and a trail at the back side of the lake sites to a wood staircase (at the back of site #12). There are two latrine buildings that were very well cleaned, and a drinking water pump house with a bubbler and a spigot. Also a dumpster located at the entrance to the campground. During the two days we stayed we saw three people drive thru the campgrounds and there was no one there which was really great. Fishing from shore behind Site #12 I caught two bass and a trout (which isnt listed as a species in the lake according to the DNR website) but there was alot of activity on the surface from panfish and bass throughout the lake. The mosquitos are terrible this year everywhere in wisconsin. LOAD UP on the bug spray and bring tiki torches with citronella, citronella table top candles/table torches, or thermacell AND have them readily available as I was greeted with thousands of mosquitos upon opening the door. We had four torches and a table top one and honestly wish I would of forked out money for a a large range thermacell. The torches did enough to make it tolerable though. This is a lake in wisconsin, if you dont come prepared for the mosquitos you are probably from Illinois (i joke). Will definitely camp here again. 30 minutes to Minocqua Wal-Mart on Hwy70, very private, access to a lake and drive in site. Also many other lakes in the area, relatively close to round and pike lake, not too far from the Flambeau chain either (and the casino if that is your thing). GREAT JOB KEEPING THIS PLACE WELL KEPT!"
