Reviews
"Their billing department is awful. I've been sent several bills that should have been sent to VA Optum insurance. Had to call several times to get it fixed. It's not my job to make sure my health care gets billed correctly. If this keeps happening I'm calling TV6 to let them know how Portage Health is treating military service Veterans who receive community care at their facilities."
"I saw Doug, a nurse practitioner. He was great and very respectful"
"2.5 hour wait to be seen with nobody in the waiting room, didn't feel they were thorough for the three minutes the doctor spent assessing. Just in a hurry to push us out. Frustrating when you have needs."
"They need to worry more about relieving pain and the issues of those coming in. Less judgement about appearance, and perhaps actually being helpful instead of just worrying about the patient trying to get high. When they're blazing it up like crazy at home. If I wanted to get high, there's dope stores everywhere that are way cheaper and more convenient than the ER. Showed up in extreme pain from post herpetic neuralgia. Told the chunky PA exactly what was wrong, exactly what will and won't fix it and he left the room for 15-20 minutes, came back and told me everything I had just told him as if he'd just diagnosed me. Offered me no relief from the immediate pain which was 8 of 10, and gave me a prescription that I knew didn't work from personal experience in the past. It was then I noticed the wrong name on my admitting bracelet. Attention to detail, and a physically healthier staff would be helpful. I hate having to listen to healthy advice from people I'm healthier than. If you can get yourself anywhere else but there it's a good idea."
"After 4 hours of pain, they decided to give something to the patient."
